Cutters drop second straight
Arbinger's homer not enough

    LOWELL, Mass. — The Williamsport Crosscutters dropped to 4-4 on their current nine-game road trip, losing their second straight game to the Lowell Spinners, 5-3, Saturday at LeLacheur Park.
    Leadoff hitter Kevin Jordan had a big game for the Spinners. Jordan went 3-for-5 with an RBI and scored a run. Zach Borowiak and Jeremy West added two hits each for Lowell (34-29).
    Cutters starter Alexander Lissir allowed two runs and seven hits in three innings. Lowell starter David Penny recorded the win, allowing three runs and six hits in five innings.
    Lowell broke a 3-3 tie by scoring two runs in the bottom of the sixth. The Cutters did not score during the final five innings. Brian Marshall recorded his fifth save by striking out the final three hitters the Cutters sent to the plate in the ninth.
    Right fielder Adam Boeve was the lone Cutter to record two hits. Designated hitter Mike Arbinger hit a two-run homer in the fourth to give the Cutters a 3-2 lead.
    The Cutters will conclude their road trip today with a game at Hudson Valley. Yoann Torrealba (6-1, 2.19) will make his team-high 13th start.
