Date Posted: 5/16/2004

The Montgomery Bisuits ended the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx winning streak at ten games on Sunday afternoon, beating the Diamond Jaxx 10-4 before a crowd of 6,389 fans at Riverwalk Stadium in Montgomery, Alabama.

The Biscuits offense exploded for seventeen hits in their first victory over the Diamond Jaxx in the teams brief history. Every player in the Biscuits line-up had at least one hit in the game.

The game featured the Double-A debuts of both starting pitchers. Montgomery left-hander Chris Seddon (1-0), who was called up from High-A Bakersfield four days ago, went five shutout innings for the Biscuits. He allowed just four hits, walking one and striking out six. Diamond Jaxx starter Sean Marshall wasn't as sharp. The left-hander, called up from Low-A Lansing two days ago, suffered the loss. Marshall went three innings, giving up six runs on ten hits.

Joey Gathright had three hits and two RBI's while Dan DeMent had a 3-5 day to lead the Biscuits attack. Fernando Cortez, Matt Bowser, Robinson Cancel and Nestor Perez had two hits each as the Biscuits set a team record for most hits in a game.

Mike Mallory drove in two runs while Aron Weston had a three hit afternoon to pace the Diamond Jaxx offense. Josh Arteaga and Geovany Soto chipped in with two hits each to pace a twelve hit attack.

The final game of the four game series takes place on Monday night in Montgomery. Bobby Brownlie (4-2 2.61) will look for his fifth win of the season. The Biscuits will counter with lefty Jason Cromer (1-3 5.96). Game time at Riverwalk Stadium is set for 7:05 p.m.
