Diamond Jaxx Lose Close One in Mobile Again, Return to Pringles Tuesday Night

Mobile, AL (Sports Network) - Mobile starting pitcher Chris Rojas tossed six innings of four-hit ball, and Alan Webb, R.D. Spiehs, and Brad Baker closed out the final three innings allowing just one hit apiece to lead the Mobile BayBears to a 2-0 shutout over the West Tenn Diamond Jaxx.

Rojas improved to 4-3 on the season with the win. He struck out five and walked two. Baker recorded his 14th save of the season, and reduced his ERA to 1.93 for the season.

Greg Sain hit his 14th home run of the year, a solo shot in the sixth inning. Jake Gautreau went 2-for-3 and drove in the other BayBear run, which was scored by Ben Johnson.

Sean Marshall suffered the loss and dropped to 2-2. In six innings, Marshall allowed two runs on four hits while striking out five.

Dwaine Bacon went 3-for-4 in a losing effort for the Diamond Jaxx, who have dropped four straight.

Mobile has won five straight, including a four-game sweep over West Tenn. Both teams are now 31-27, and are tied for first in the West Division.
