tossed seven innings of shutout baseball as the Daytona Cubs cruised to a
5-0 victory over the Palm Beach Cardinals Wednesday night at Roger Dean
Stadium.
Marshall (1-1) held the Cardinals to just four hits and walked only one
while striking out eight.
Mark Michael (1-1), who took the loss for the Cardinals, allowed three runs
(two earned) over five innings.
Roberto Batista had another solid outing from the bullpen for the Cardinals,
as he threw three scoreless innings and faced the minimum number of batters.
Brendan Ryan and Cody Haerther each finished 2 for 4, accounting for four of
the five hits the Cardinals recorded on the evening.
Game two of the series is Thursday morning at 10:35 a.m. The early start
time is for Education Day, where local students and faculty attend to take
part in educational activities. |
