Reyes Lifts Jaxx Over Carolina

Jose Reyes hit a one out solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to give the Diamond Jaxx a 4-3 win over the Carolina Mudcats before a crowd of 5,481 fans at Fice County Stadium.

Reyes first home run of the season came off losing pitcher Ryan Baker (3-2). Reyes also drove in two other runs with a two run double in the fifth inning to give the Diamond Jaxx a 3-1 lead. Reyes finished the night 2-3 with a homer, walk and three RBI's.

Carolina tied the game in the bottom of the ninth when Diamond Jaxx closer David Aardsma (3-0) gave up two un-earned runs. Pinch-hitter Dennis Anderson's seeing eye single to center drove in Reggie Abercrombie to tie the game at three.

Sean Marshall started the game for the Diamond Jaxx, giving up a run on just two hits over the first eight innings. Marshall walked one, hit a batter and struckout eight.

Game three of the four game series takes place on Sunday afternoon at 2:00 CDT. Right-hander Ricky Nolasco (8-0 2.71) gets the start for the Diamond Jaxx. Carolina will counter with lefty Ray Aguilar (1-0 1.35).
