From a Cubs Blog (A Blog - That's just someone's diary on the web)
23. Sean
Marshall (LHP) (NR - '03 draftee) - Sean is a 6' 6" lefty
out of VCU who was drafted in the 6th round this year. He posted excellent
numbers in Boise this year with 88 Ks in 73 innings with only 68 hits allowed
and only 1 homerun. At the end of the year he made a cameo in Lansing and tossed
7 scoreless innings with 11 Ks. To be honest, Marshall is one of the few guys on
this list where my report is based completely on second hand information, BUT as
a tall left-hander he's going to get plenty of opportunities. Word is that he
only throws 86-88 but has an excellent curve ball and pretty good control. At
only 185 lbs he's got plenty of room to fill out and add velocity as he gets
older. For now, he'll probably be back in Lansing for a full season of cold
weather while we try to figure out if he's more like Lance Dickson (good),
Phil Norton (ok) or Mark Freed (not so good).
