ITI 2004 Minor League Pitchers of the Year
By ITI Staff Steve Holley, Andy Montalbano
Date: Nov 7, 2004
It is time once again for the annual Minor League Awards as decided
on by the ITI staff. First on our two-part list will be the top Cubs
Minor League pitchers for 2004. As always, it is important to note the
awards are based strictly on a pitcher's performance rather than his
prospect ranking or value. They are broken down into two sets of five.

4. LHP Sean Marshall
(Class A-Double-A: 4-2, 2.91 ERA)
Injury not withstanding,
Marshall cleaned house while at Lansing before his late-May promotion to West
Tenn. He showed pinpoint accuracy, boasting only four walks in 48 2/3 IP while
striking out 51. His 12.75 K/BB ratio while at Lansing easily lead the Cubs'
farm system. Marshall limited opposing hitters to a paltry .171 average while a
member of the Lugnuts, though he was approximately two years older than the
league average.
