By Steve Holley ITI Editor & Publisher
Date: Dec 29, 2004
Pitching, pitching and more pitching carried the Lansing Lugnuts back into
the post-season in 2004. The Lugnuts led the Midwest League with a 3.39 ERA
for the season and were in the top five in strikeouts, and fewest homeruns,
walks and hits allowed.

2004 RECAP: There was no mistaking who the leader of the Lansing rotation
was at the beginning of the year. Unfortunately for manager
Julio Garcia,
Marshall's tenure in Lansing was short-lived after a much deserved promotion to
Double-A in early May.
In seven starts at Lansing, Marshall went seven innings or more on four
separate occasions and was the ultimate groundball pitcher, inducing 63
groundball outs to only 26 flyouts. Best of all, he is 100 percent healthy
according to Cubs Director of Player Development Oneri Fleita, and will be at
full force again come March.
