Final Score: Chicago White Sox 8, Chicago Cubs 7

Chicago, IL (Sports Network) - Gordon Beckham hit a game-ending RBI single in the ninth inning, as the White Sox battled back several times in the late innings to edge the Cubs, 8-7, in the latest installment of the Chicago rivalry. Beckham finished the game 2-for-5 with a run scored, as the White Sox overcame three errors -- two by Alexei Ramirez -- to even the set at 1-1 and win for the third time in four games. Scott Podsednik had his second four-hit game of the year, including a solo homer, and drove in three runs in the win. Mark Buehrle allowed five runs -- three earned -- on six hits and three walks in 5 2/3 innings, and Bobby Jenks (2-2) received the win after pitching a scoreless ninth inning. Alfonso Soriano and Ryan Theriot each had two hits and two RBI for the Cubs, who have lost five of six. Milton Bradley was back in the lineup a day after getting sent home by manager Lou Piniella for causing a scene in the dugout and went 1-for-5. According to reports in The Chicago Tribune, the two have reconciled their differences. Ryan Dempster did not fair so well on the mound in the start, allowing five runs on eight hits and three walks in five innings. The bullpen didn't fare much better, allowing three runs in 3 2/3 innings. Sean Marshall (3-6) was handed the loss.
