What's been added in '04

9/05/04 - Hurricane Frances has brought an early end to the FSL baseball season. This combined with Sean in Mesa means the 2004 season is over. Stay tuned for any news I am able to find relative to the Arizona Fall League.

7/09/04 - Brian pitched last night in another extra innings affair. Game 1 of a double header. He had his longest outing of the season, going 3 innings in middle relief. 7/04/04 - Happy Independence Day. "Great" is the word to describe Brian's outing yesterday. Although still in middle relief, Brian had a great outing yesterday in front of one of the biggest crowds Sarasota has had this year, although it was a Fort Myers crowd. 6/19/04 - My humblest apologies for missing Brian's outing on the 15th. His latest Stats, Scoreboard and Box Scores. There's a long boring story why I missed it.

6/17/04 - Added maps of the Florida State League and the Southern League. Test your geography knowledge, and link to the various team sites in these league. On the menu under Misc Items>League Maps.

6/14/04 - Sean strained a muscle during his start on the 12th. The team doctor diagnosed the strain and ordered him to rest for 10 days -- no throwing at all -- then he can begin coming back. Unfortunately, that rules out any appearances in North Carolina this week. As far as he knows, he'll still be traveling with the team. I'm sure he'd be happy to see his friends and family.

6/13/04 - Sean was in action last night. He didn't go long enough to get a decision, just 4 2/3. See his latest: Stats, Scoreboard, Box Scores and Game summaries. Sean's numbers are starting to look like Sean's numbers again. The Florida State League is in it's All Star break right now.

5/23/04 - The Birmingham Barons and the Diamond Jaxx do not broadcast their games over the internet. I e-mailed the Diamond Jaxx, and they are working toward this and think they might have it by mid-summer. Until then, you should be able to listen to Sean's games with the Jaxx using their opponents websites. Click here, or on the menu Media>Listen to the Games>Sean with the Jaxx.

5/22/04 - The Western Tennessee online news papers seem to run a day or two behind in updating or adding stories relative to their local professional baseball clubs. So check back often.

Sean made his second Diamond Jaxx start this year. He got a no decision. Be sure to pay close attention to the Stats page. Sean batted last night. Apparently in AA ball, the pitcher bats if it's a national league affiliate game. Stats, Scoreboard, Box Scores and Game summaries.

By my calculation, Sean should pitch next against the Carolina Mudcats in Carolina (On the 27th - maybe?). If you don't plan to go to the game, you can get the live radio broadcast off the Mudcats Website. It's about half way down on the right. If you decide to go, the Mudcats also offer excellent directions. It's about 150 miles from Midlothian VA.

5/16/04 - Not a great day in double A. Sean saw his first action as a Diamond Jaxx pitcher today. We went three innings gave up 10 hits, 6 runs, all earned, and struck out two. Full stats and recaps available tomorrow.

5/13/04 - AWESOME. Recognition.

Just a quick note to spread the latest baseball news .... Sean has been promoted to the AA West Tennessee Diamond Jaxx. He got the assignment this afternoon and will be flying to Tennessee at 5:30am tomorrow!! His team is currently in Iowa. Sean will make his first appearance in this Sunday's game vs. the Montgomery Biscuits. Additional exciting news .... in Sean's last game, his fast ball topped out at 97 mph and still hitting 96 mph in the 9th inning! They must be feeding him well up there in Michigan!

5/01/04 - This quote from the Lansing State Journal pretty much sums it up "In 32.2 innings, Marshall has allowed just four earned runs and struck out 35 batters. Despite that solid pitching, he's earned just one decision this year." Stats, Scoreboard, Box Scores and Game summaries Sean pitched 5+ innings last night in what looked like a sure win, his second of the season, but it wasn't to be.

4/27/04 - Sorry, must have had a brain freeze and missed Sean's fourth start. Well, better late than never, even though I know it's better never late. Another stellar performance by Sean on the 24th pitching 8 solid innings, unfortunately he had no run support. His Stats, Scoreboard, Box Scores and Game summaries have all been updated.

4/20/04 - Sean went 8 strong innings last night, but did not get enough run support for a victory. He had the longest outing of any Lugnut so far this year, as well as the most strikeouts in a game. Updated Stats, Scoreboard, Box Scores and Game summaries.

4/18/04 - Brian saw action this afternoon. He had his longest outing of the year so far going 2 1/3 innings closing out the game. Unfortunately, the Sarasox could not provide another run. Box Scores, Game Summaries, Stats & Scoreboard have been updated. Game summaries should be available sometime tomorrow.

4/17/04 - Brian made his fourth appearance last night. He has yet to have a save opportunity. He pitched the 7th, only facing 3 batters and retiring all three in order. Stats, Scoreboard, Box Scores and Game Summary pages have all been updated. (It has been real difficult to find anything in the news media about his appearances so far.)

4/16/04 - No Marshall activity last night. But, Sean is featured on the Lugnuts site today. IF you click on the Lugnut word, you will be taken to their site. If you click "see him here" you will be taken to a copy of this information kept on this website.

4/14/04 - Sean saw action last night. He gave up his first runs of the season but was not involved in the decision. Stats, Scoreboard, Box Scores and Game Summaries have been updated.

4/11/04 - Brian saw action again on Easter Sunday. He pitched 1.1 innings, closing out the game. The Sox were behind and unable to come back. Box Scores and Game Summaries will be updated tomorrow. Stats & Scoreboard have been updated.

4/09/04 - Both saw action. Sean won. Brian closed, but it was not a save opportunity. Added all the stats (Sean, Brian), scoreboard (Sean, Brian), box score (Sean, Brian) and game summaries (Sean, Brian) from last night.

4/08/04 - Sean pitched an excellent game, even being praised by the Battle Creek announcer. I don't have the line on him yet. He leaves the game up 2-0. The line on Sean was 6 strong innings, no runs, 3 hits and 8 strikeouts.

I checked with the Sarasota Red Sox, and they do not have any internet broadcasts of games. I will search the opponent sites, so maybe we can listen to some.

Found Brian mentioned in an article. It's in his "InPrint" index. Added a new schedule for Sarasota, so you can link to broadcasts on the internet. You can find this link on the Media > Listen to Games > Brian in Sarasota menu. Daytona, Fort Myers and Vero Beach all broadcast over the internet. Be sure to click on the oppositions logo the given game date to be taken to the broadcast site.

4/07/04 - Brian is on the Sarasota Red Sox. I will be updating his links accordingly starting tomorrow, 4/8.

4/05/04 - Sean pitches Thursday at Battle Creek. All Battle Creek Yankee games will be broadcast over the internet. All Lansing games are also suppose to be broadcast over the internet. Lansing's site currently has no info. Battle Creek's site offers on game days, a link to the broadcast site will appear on the Battle Creek home page. Games will be archived for 30 days at www.broadcastmonsters.com.

3/24/04 - It won't be decided until next week, but for now, Sean is looking at Daytona and Brian at Sarasota. Both High A class ball. The possibility exists to go to Low A, so let's keep our fingers crossed for High. Take a look now at the schedule section for links to these clubs upcoming seasons.

3/21/04 - From the latest "On Deck Baseball" prospects list, March 2004, Sean is rated 21 in the top 40 Cubs prospects. He is also 3rd team on Chicago Cubs All-Prospect teams. He is also rated #4 in Cubs Starting pitchers with at least 40 innings pitched.
Brian is rated #1 in Red Sox pitchers with less than 20 innings pitched. He is also 3rd team on Boston Red Sox All-Prospect teams.

3/14/04 - Reports from Uncle Leo, Francis, Jr & Grandpa Winfield on their visit to Mesa - Sean looked real good in his throwing, covering different and various bunt situations and his overall demeanor. He is working out with the Daytona Cubs (High CLass A) and the Tenn Jaxx (Double A) groups.

also has an effective slider. Has major league bullpen potential.
